Malman floats are handbuilt by UK matchman Gareth Malham, using the highest quality materials. Designs are produced in conjunction with some of the country's top anglers to meet the demands of modern match fishing. Emphasis is placed on both strength and sensitivity.

Unlike some other 'handmade' floats that have appeared on the market over the last couple of years the bodies of all Malman Floats are turned personally by Gaz using closed cell foams and super high quality kiln dried balsa. From now on Malman floats will be designated according to the body material as follows-

SL super-light foam: A high tech foam used in aerospace engineering, expensive and difficult to obtain this foam is 20% lighter than the softest balsa but significantly harder. This allows for smaller bodies increasing sensitivity and movment through the water on the strike whilst creating a float that cannot take on water even when damaged. Smaller body sizes can also allow for the use of thicker wire in some wire floats meaning more stability and strength.

SH improved super-hard foam: A high density super hard foam that is virtually impossible to damage in normal use with a similar density to hard grade balsa. Its high density also means side eyes are extremely secure. In the unlikely event that a SH body does become damaged it will not take on water. Floats made from SH foam now feature a new improved smoother paint finish Great for bagging floats where strength is paramount.

AB AAA grade kiln-dried balsa: A superior AAA graded balsa wood which is low in oil and weight but high in density making it stronger than balsa found in shop bought and ’fake’ handmades found on auction sites. Balsa has high longitudinal making it useful for dibbers and pencil floats in particular.

Postage is now a flat £3.50 for all orders. Dispatch is by Royal Mail recorded or special delivery depending on the value of the order. I post out 2 or 3 times a week with most orders being recived within a few days however please allow 7 days for delivery.

I add stock as I make the floats so if the float you want isn't in stock check back in a few days and it could well be there.
